Spiral staircases and elevators.
It's ridiculous to not have elevators yet either, when going to a basement lab, stairs don't cut it. You need a nice elevator. On top of that elevators would also provide an additional woohoo location and maybe could allow for some mischief option to sabotage it so it gets stuck when someone uses it.
Could also be cool if maybe you'd have like a rope you could hang, allowing sims to climb up to a floor higher if their athletics skill is high enough, but they can use it to slide down too.
More ways to move between floors would just be really welcome.

I love spiral stairs, and want them bad! I'd also love curved stairs for curved walls; for the castle tower stairwell effect.

I genuinely believe spiral staircases are the single most important building feature still missing from The Sims 4.
Builders have been asking for them for years, and the reason is simple: they solve a major limitation in Build Mode.
Right now, every staircase requires a large footprint. Even the smallest stair designs take up a lot of tiles, which makes certain builds almost impossible to recreate accurately. Spiral stairs would finally allow for compact vertical movement in builds where space matters.
Think about how many builds would immediately become easier or more realistic:
- Towers
- Castles
- Lighthouses
- Victorian turrets
- Tiny homes
- Treehouses
- Loft apartments
- Narrow townhouses
Right now, builders have to fake spiral stairs using switchbacks or curved stairs, which can take 6–12 tiles of space just to move up one floor. A spiral staircase could easily fit within a 2×2 footprint, which would completely change how compact builds work.
We already have:
- Ladders
- Adjustable stair widths
- Platforms
- Curved walls
- Advanced stair customization
Spiral staircases feel like the last major vertical building tool missing from the game.
And the best part is they don’t even need dozens of versions. Just a few styles would unlock huge creative possibilities:
- Classic wrought iron spiral
- Wooden traditional spiral
- Modern minimalist spiral
The Sims building community is one of the most creative parts of the entire player base. People spend hundreds or thousands of hours designing homes, castles, fantasy worlds, and real-life architectural recreations. Spiral staircases would instantly expand what we can create.
If this feature were added, it would easily become one of the most celebrated Build Mode updates.
If you’re a builder who wants spiral staircases too, upvote or share so the devs might see it.

Oh yes we totally need, spiral stairways I need them for so many places, curvable is prolly a huge ask, but we really need some 2x2 spirals for cramped places.
When you get a chance lads please 😁

I'd like spiral staircases, and curved ones. These would make for some cool builds.
the_quinn_agenda on our previous AHQ forum we received an answer from EA that the requests for spiral staircases were taken directly to the Team. So hopefully we'll see them at some point.

11 years of this game and still no spiral staircases? This is a small feature that needs to be included in the next update.
The sims 3 was released in 2009, 2 years later they added spiral stairs. Sims 4 is now 11 years old, haven’t we waited long enough? Now there’s talk of sims taking a backseat in priority for other things like project Rene. If this is true then we really are due for this addition, as the last game release for sims 3 was in 2013, 2 years after the addition of spiral staircases. We are supposedly getting the last expansion for sims 4 this year, so how does that work? We should’ve received this feature 2 years ago at least according to that math.
I understand that modding is available for this kind of thing but not everyone has the capability of doing so or are capable of running the risk of malicious software being installed. For some simmers it also boils down to not having the computer capacity for it, not to mention the console users who should also have access to this addition.Regardless if the sims 3 got spiral staircases in 2011 isn’t it time the sims 4 got them?

Previous Sims versions have had spiral staircases...I think it's now a matter of they don't really want to add them - we're over 100 DLC purchase options and still no spiral staircase? Likely EA is just putting people off.
This is a long time request for the Sims 4 and has been passed to the team, as we learned back on the previous AHQ forum quite some time ago. So hopefully we'll see them included at some point.
