Sims 4 Suggestions/Ideas

Here are some ideas/suggestions to make sims more interactive and realistic.

Infants:

  • Newborns should be able to be carried around like infants instead of being stuck in a bassinet. They can be placed on the playmat and changing table, or maybe have their own newborn swing to place in the living room.
  • (Unsure if this is already a thing. If it is, ignore this one.) Infants should be able to play in sand and snow, at least once they reach their sit up milestone, and also play in the kiddie pool.

Toddlers:

  • Little tricycles for toddlers so that toddlers can have bikes too just like children.
  • When a toddler has started potty training, there should be an option for older sims to take toddlers with them into those public restrooms in the park whenever they need to go in public.
  • Toddlers should be able to wash their hands too (at least with help from an older sim) after using the potty. There can be a stepping stool for them, or the older sim can hold them up to the sink. This can increase their manners.
  • While toddlers are potty training, they should wear training underwear, and when they have an accident they can get a sad moodlet.
  • There should be bunk beds for toddlers (with stairs instead of ladders so it’s accessible for toddlers), which can come in handy when you have a compact room and two or more toddlers. There can maybe be an option to fight over who gets the top bunk (this can apply to children as well.)
  • Once toddlers max their communication skill, they should be able to talk about more things that other sims talk about, such as discussing the weather/temperature (for example they can complain over the heat), insults (such as calling someone a poopy head), and maybe even discussing interests.
  • Toddlers should have likes and dislikes too! For example they can set preferences for colours, hobbies (which can be playing with the dollhouse or roughhousing with older sims), and music types.
  • Toddlers should be able to draw too! And maybe there can be an option for toddlers to draw on walls or furniture (which can result in them getting in trouble for it.)
  • Sims need to stop changing their toddler’s diaper in front of other sims in public. They should be taken somewhere private, or as I mentioned in another dot point, be taken into a public restroom.
  • Toddlers should use the mirror or wardrobe to ‘play dress up with mommy/daddy’s clothes.’

Children:

  • Playgrounds in the sims should have more playground equipments, such as rocking horses, swing sets and merry-go-rounds.
  • Children should be able to paint on the easel and get the painting skill after maxing their creativity skill.
  • Primary schools should also be interactive like high schools.
  • Children should have more milestones.

Both infants, toddlers and/or children:

  • There should be prams and strollers that sims can use on toddlers or infants whenever they go for walks or jogs instead of leaving them at home.
  • Toddlers and infants should be able to go into the big pool, but only with the help of an older sim and with swim floats on. This can maybe also apply to the deeper end of the beach.
  • When a diaper needs a change while out in public, the public restrooms should have an option to ‘change diaper’.
  • There should be mini instruments for toddlers and infants to play with, such as a tiny toy piano.
  • Toddlers and infants should be able to play on the swings too, with the help of an older sim. Swings should be customisable so that you can change one of the swings on a swing set to be a swing for infants and toddlers.
  • There should be pacifiers for infants and toddlers, and maybe there can be an option to ‘say bye-bye’ to the pacifier when toddlers reach a certain skill level (such as thinking or communication). A pacifier can also decrease negative moodlets faster.
  • Infants and toddlers should be able to get sick as well, mainly just fever, colds or nausea.
  • It’d be funny if children and/or toddlers could ask where babies come from, resulting in an embarrassed moodlet from the older sim.
  • Toddlers and infants should be able to say ‘what’s that?’ to more items.
  • Children and toddlers should be able to play hide and seek, where they can hide behind objects, under beds, inside wardrobes, etc.

Older sims/general

  • There should be preferences for tv shows.
  • Sims should be able to get injuries (that way the hospital can be more useful) and sims can use crutches and wheelchairs.
  • Sims should have their own heights that you can adjust! You can even make a sim who is very short struggle to reach things, or a sim who is very tall have to hunch over under low roofs.
  • Female teenagers should get periods (but you can make it discreet for younger viewers by simply adding an uncomfortable moodlet every now and then for ‘puberty cramps’.)
  • There should be seperate categories for makeup in the CAS. (For example, sims can choose which makeup to wear with any outfit by selecting the mirror and selecting ‘apply makeup’ or ‘change makeup’. This should also apply for hair.
  • There should be nose piercings or belly button piercings.
  • Sims should be able to catch illnesses from other sims if too close or touching them too much.
  • (Unsure if this is already a thing. If it is, ignore this one.) Children should be able to use the diving board.
