Sims 5 - Speculations & Ideas

@andrewmac221, I seriously doubt it as about a year and a half ago the Sims developers (Sim Gurus) had stated that we had at least 3 years left in TS4!. 🤨🥳 Also there has been no mention from EA/Maxis that it is coming soon (or even if there will be a Sims 5!)  While I think there will be a Sims 5, and that I think they are most likely working on it now, it will take several years to complete something like this.  Take the Nifty Knitting pack that is coming out by the end of this month... the pack vote started in November and wont be out until the end of July... that is 8 months, and just for a small Stuff Pack! 😉

Also, usually when a new version of the Sims is released, it is about 6 months (at least) after the last pack of the previous game comes out.  We don't even have 6 months left in this year! 😃  They also usually announce an upcoming new version of the game months in advance, and there has been no official word on Sims5.  Then you have to factor in any difficulties the pandemic might have on video game development.  That could also slow things down.  But even without that, I would say that if there is going to be a Sims 5 that it wouldn't come out until late November 2021 at the earliest , just going by how long the Sim Gurus said TS4 is going to last.  But in reality, I think it won't be until mid or late 2022!  😉

Edit to add : And that picture is just a picture from Sims 3 with a Sims 5 homemade logo added on.  Beware of what you read on the internet.  Some people will make posts claiming that they have "proof" that the Sims 5 is coming soon just to get you to click on their site or video! 🤒

The AI tasks between a Sim and a monster from B&W don't seem much different from each other and the little villagers themselves had a decent learning AI but it wasn't as sophisticated as the monsters'. With EA owning the rights to B&W they could double-dip on AI development for Sims 5 by experimenting with the same AI and engine they intend to use for it in Black & White 3 first, get feedback, and make revisions while planning and designing it further for Sims 5 implementation.  I'm also not in a rush for Sims 5 so B&W 3 development time would be a good bridge of time between Sims 4, (possible Sims 4 -B&W 3 promo DLC?), completion of B&W3(2 years?), and finally Sims 5(2 more years?). 

 Some suggestions I have that I think are universal among fans of B&W is please don't repeat the gesture system from 1 and please don't repeat the Real-Time-Strategy-Warfare from 2. In the second case it felt like an unnecessary bad clone of Age of Empires that detracted from B&W1's core principals that made it unique. That gesture system was frustratingly inaccurate and even after literally dozens of hours of practice I like most people could never reliably pull off the gestures. Another revision to B&W franchise I think just makes good sense is to stop using Real-World races and cultures as in-game tribes because people are a lot more serious about that sort of thing now than then.

I think the pairing is good, Sims proves you don't need a 'War Game' to be a successful game so a lot of the RTS War junk in B&W 2 can be left in the dust while still attracting a audience of gamers. Do the double dip!

I have some suggestions for The Sims 5:

I think it'd be awesome to have cross-platform, actual open world and online, where you can use the arrow keys to freely move your Sim(s) around...with your online friends!  Everyone can still create their households in CAS, build houses, basically everything from The Sims 3—no loading screens, open world, cars, etc.

But wouldn't it be awesome to use the arrow keys to and whatnot to freely move yourself around as a Sim and drive around town with your online friend(s) joining you in your car?  Get the whole crew together and actually be able to go inside a grocery store, actually pick up things from shelves, go to the self-checkout, ring your stuff up, "accidentally forget" to scan the last item and leave the store with your friends and another online person is portraying as the cop who sees you shoplifting and they stop you and arrest you and you actually go to jail?

You could also make yourself take your cell phone out and call your friend but really it would be like a party chat with you and your online friend but it shows your Sim and their Sim on their cell phones, and when you meet up with them, you're in regular open world game chat and anyone who's online can hear you and talk to you using their headsets.

Basically it would be like GTA5 or Red Dead Redemption 2... you have the open world and online/"multiplayer" feature.  When you first load into the game, it shows your Sim waking up and getting out of bed and you actually make yourself do stuff.  Flip the light switch, cook food, clean stuff, etc.  Maybe even add a VR option if players want to really make it look and feel realistic.

See/hear someone online acting a fool?  Use the up arrow key and approach him!  Put him in his place!  Voice chat in open world, still be able to click on people and perform interactions (imply mother is a llama, etc.)

Is there going to be a sims 5?

I am not alone that steam don’t like Mac and we want open world and we want origin for sims 5

 New to the Sims, mostly because it’s at an awesome discount, which makes me think that the new one is coming out soon. But since this is my first experience with them, I don’t know if they’ve had these great deals before and the game lasted. But getting something this cheap makes me think something is going on. I downloaded it for PC. Just my two cents.
