When my sim autonomously starts talking with someone out of the household, I like that they have a multitude of interactions that they preform. However, I hate that when I click on that other sim for the first time, I still have to do an introduction. Shouldn’t that have already happened? Why do I need a friendly introduction hours in game after they are already interacting?
Yes, this happens a lot. Sims talk but still have to be introduced to eachother.
Was this bug fixed because i'm still finding this all the time in my game but there's no way to upvote this post, the usual orange button doesn't show up on the OP post.
It is one of the most nonsensical game design choices I have ever seen. Anyone can come up and interfere on your date, death and anything in between, but I have to introduce myself to that person? My student goes to school and has a timed quest to learn about the new school because I chose to join that day, but I have to spend time introducing myself to the principal, even though I've been attending school for days/weeks? If introductions didn't take forever, time out randomly and often autonomously draw every sim in the near vicinity into conversation and extend the interaction, perhaps it would be bearable. As it is, it's tedious and frustrating.
I think this may be how it was actually designed. The sims will look like they are talking so it doesn't look awkward to just ignore the other sim, but it requires your active input if you want your sim to actually start a relationship with that sim. Otherwise, your relationship tab would be flooded with townies that they interacted with when they visited a bar that you didn't really want them to have a relationship with.
I have this all the time. It makes no sense! Especially because when my sims first start talking to these sims in conversation they do the little introduction animation so it's clear they have introduced themselves yet I still need to have them do it again. It's very immersion breaking.
Sometimes, sims are friends with a big frienship bar but still need to introduce themselves like they never met.
Maybe the game would act as if they were introduced, meaning you'd have all the interaction options with them if they speak with your sim for a certain amount of time, but they wouldn't be added into your relationship panel? Idk how that would work cuz you might want to add some sims, though.
Yes, yes, yes! This has bothered me for YEARS!! When sims autonomously talk to another sim, the game doesn't count them as already being introduced. When I click on the sim that my sim is talking to, there are no options for conversation, I have to introduce myself first. Very annoying.
The problem with that is that the "Goodbye" interaction is only available if you've introduced yourself to them, so it's difficult to get sims you don't want to talk to out of the conversation without adding them to your relationship panel. I just want to be able to say "Goodbye" to random townies that join conversations so they butt out. I shouldn't need to first introduce myself just to tell them to mind their own business. lol
This a problem on consoles too.
