I get around this issue by placing a counter centered under the window, and then either side I place the end pieces of the counter and add further counters as needed. With MOO it's possible to place them seamlessly. Also, sometimes I put an accent table under the sink instead of counters, so it looks centered.
I don't really like faking stuff, like the basement trick etc. And also some counters have different shaped end pieces and so they don't fit right or don't look good at all.
No basement trick, just MOO. Some of the sinks and accent tables just go together. As for the counters, I use the ones that work for this purpose. Would be nice if the end counters fit exactly on half tile.
