- @EmMac1066 "Free roaming ghost" is basically the same as what Sims has always done when a Sim dies - the ghost may appear from the gravestone/urn, but is no longer part of your household and if you get rid of the gravestone/urn they'll be gone.
If you pick "playable ghost" you also have the option to immediately click on the gravestone/urn as the new ghost and choose "return to netherworld" which removes them from the game. - EmMac10669 months agoNew Rookie
Thank you for responding. I understand the terminology of the ghosts. I was asking how to stop up that pop up. It gets annoying to see every time a Sim dies. It's like the Emily popping up, asking if you want lessons in the Sims when you are a seasoned player. You already can make a Sim a member of the Household by clicking on the gravestone. It's seems unnecessary repetitive.

It may seem unnecessary to you, but I think its ESSENTIAL. If I am playing a cherished family I probably want a playable ghost. If a townie dies I may prefer a free roaming ghost. Or vice versa! Ghosts are my ABSOLUTE favorite thing in The Sims, and I hate the idea of the netherworld disappearance! By all means play however you like. That is none of anyone elses business. But, why would you want to prevent others from enjoying the ghosts?
I will never buy University, High School or Love Struck. But, I don't demand EA stop selling them. Choice is good. If the pop up really annoys you either disable ageing or extend the life of your Sims with potions. Its a small issue IMO.
RE making a Sim a member of the household by clicking ion a gravestone. Is that a cheat? I have never seen that option, only "strengthen connection to physical world" . I did add a ghost Sim to a family once several months back, but it took AGES of spamming friendly interactions to increase relationship to max and allow the family member to invite ghost to join the family. A direct way to do that is great!
Cheers

My request is not to take anything away from a player, but to have an option to turn it off.
