strangerville toggle
I wish they'd add a toggle to turn the story off like how you can turn off fame and burglars, sometimes I want my sims to live there without having to do the story😞🤞🏾

agreed, we need more options to toggle things off in settings and the Strangerville pack is one of them
i dislike the world simply because you're forced to stick with the story
i at times wants to live in Strangerville without being stick with the story
hopefully one day they'll give off the option to turn it on/off
agreed
If you play on a computer, you can search for save files. I know there was a save file called "not so strangerville" that has the story already completed. You just put it in your save folder, not the mods folder.
This is not true.
Once you play out the story you can rebuild and play the world as you please.
Strangerville dose not need refreshing as it is. The game design runs and plays fine on my PC with all my cc and DLC installed.
graaaypng as Miataplay says, you just need to complete the story:

Once that's done you can live in Strangerville without the mystery affecting anything. Some of my Sims live there (Shady Acres is beautiful). I have a sci-fi park in the town and retail stores. I avoid the social "Talk about Strangerville" but I don't think that actually does anything after the mystery is complete. To restart the mystery and it's effects you actually have to "revive" the thing you "defeat" to complete the mystery...no spoilers here if you haven't done that yet! But once you've completed the mystery you have saved Strangerville and it's just a regular town.
Miataplay, I only purchased the strangerville gp for the furniture, clothing, and extra world. There are players who want to use the world and never play the prepackaged story. I actually have never done the required storyline to make the world normal. I have no desire to play a linear premade story in a game that is supposed to allow people to play as they want with life. I did Google for a save file that had it done already, which I recommend people also do if the are like me.
That's great.
I was just describing the EP in general and why a toggle is not required to play it.
I know but I would like to live there without playing the story at all everytime I play a new or different save 😞. Just like how you can toggle fame.
@graaypng, so search for the save file online that I suggested. It is called "not so strangerville." Then when you want to play in strangerville without doing the story, select that file and make a new Sim and press save as and create a new save.
