Where are the disabilities in SIMS 4? I'm talking about Autism and wheelchairs? Why can't i have my brother Sean in a wheelchair and my son as autistic?
Wheelchairs are not possible as it would be impossible to get into most buildings let alone go to first floor.
How would you depict Autism in any meaningful way in a game like this?

@jpkarlsen It shouldn't be that difficult to create ramps for wheelchair access. I still think it's weird (and possibly insulting) that HSY included an accessible parking space at the High School, even though we don't have wheelchairs in the game. Not to mention, that even if wheelchairs were part of the game, this spot is the most inaccessible spot for the school.

Residential lots won't be the problem as they can just be flat, as they would be IRL. One of my best friends has a totally adapted bungalow with a wet room for her accessibility needs and I could easily replicate it in the game. My house IRL isn't adapted (darn those stairs) but just has helpful gadgets that make cooking easier and memory foam everything even my in my Skechers lol, plus ergonomic seating. Those things could be included in the game (ooh a Skechers kit 🤞but I digress) along with walking aids added when needed, using a similar principle to umbrellas for walking sticks for example. The problem would be IMO public lots that can't be edited. So they would all need to be either upgraded with ramps or opened up for us to do that.
I think it's the kind of thing that could start slow, like with the glucose monitor and hearing aids.
Media quotes do say they're thinking about it so we watch this space I guess. - jpkarlsen2 years agoHero (Retired)
Adding ramps would not be hard you could probably make something that works with terrain tools but that is only a minor part of making it wheelchair accessible. I agree that it is an odd place to put a handicap parking spot. Handicap parking do not necessarily mean that you are wheelchair bound having to use crutches or walkers counts and these could far easier be implemented in the game.

@jpkarlsen You're right. My apologies if that was insensitive of me. My mother does not use a wheelchair but she does have mobility problems and has a placard for accessible parking spots.
