Maybe SIMS 5 will see it return.
If your not opposed to mod use and are able there is a mod released last December of a pool table. ( I have not used nor tested it so I cannot comment on it use wise )

@ErykaNeko , IIRC, I think all of the previous Sims versions have had a pool table, not just Sims 3! So, it is even weirder that we don't have one in Sims 4! 🤔🤨😢- @PugLove888 Even now when creating community or home lots, I still find myself looking for that pool table and need to remind myself "Hello, its not in this game". LOL Loved that feature in our game.
The mod that exists for this is great, but I would love for it to be in game.
Even if they came up with a Rec kit, or a Rec Kit Stuff Pack - I would totally get behind that.
