The Sims 4 (Victorian Era) Ideas
I apologize if my title seems a little misleading for this board, but I chose it because likely my ideas will be using The Sims 4 engine. I appreciate the time anyone is taking to read this topic. Please consider my ideas as mere inspiration to make The Sims even more fun and engaging for players of all types.
For quite some time I've been wanting a sequel for The Sims Medieval but set in a different era. Always, in the back of my mind, I wondered if Electronic Arts would create additional games for players who are interested in playing adventures set in the past. As EA acknowledged before, it's hard to play sims from past eras in a modern setting. Plus, I like the story gameplay that the regular Sim games are lacking. Outside The Sims Stories and Strangerville Game Pack, that is.
To my point, I can tell by looking at all of the custom content that they are a lot of sim players who are interested in the Rococo, Regency, and Victorian eras. I chose to discuss the Victorian Era because of popular stories such as The Phantom of the Opera, Sherlock Holmes, Gone With The Wind, Jane Eyre, Mary Poppins, and so much more takes place in this time period. I think this era provides a lot of room for creative stories and gameplay.
Below are ideas for this possible sequel and some gameplay changes from The Sims Medieval.
- Building Your World: I love how in The Sims Medieval it’s up to you to gain enough points to raise up buildings so to make your world more lively and prosperous. In my personal opinion, raising up buildings using a point system doesn’t feel as satisfying as the feeling that you’ve gathered up enough materials to make it. So like those games where you build cities, it would be fun for our sims to work to gain enough materials to build their city whether through their jobs or missions.
- Career Ideas: Butler, Maid/Governess, Chef, Teacher, Pastor, Engineer/Inventor, Politics, Military, Physician, Clerk, Farmer, Gentlemen/Lady, Entertainer, Police/Detective, Miner, and Tailor. Obviously, this isn't all the jobs available in the Victorian Era. But these were the ones I could think of from the top of my head.
- Heroes: Just like in the regular Sim games, I thought that it might be a good idea to allow the players to have more than a handful of characters to control. Not necessarily to control all characters, but at least a townful of people like in the regular Sim games. I say this because it'll allow players to have multiple characters who can share the same career and diversity in personalities and storylines.
- Aging: I'm pleased that our sim characters do not die from old age after 30 days in The Sims Medieval. (I'm using hyperbole, I know sims will not die after 30 days.) Still, I believe that the aging system should return so that future generations of sims could have their own adventures. Unlike in The Sims Medieval where you have to kill your sims by throwing them into the pit or murdered by another hero sim. Plus, I like the generation after generation stories.
- Social Gatherings: While the Sims Medieval does a wonderful job allowing our sims to celebrate after accomplishing something great, I love the idea of our sims going to the opera or having balls where sims could waltz with each other with elegance. In fact, it would be cool to have a Cinderella-like story for our sims as a mission.
- Locations: I thought it would be cool if the players will be able to actually visit the location of their off-world missions. I'm not fussing, but it's a tad boring to be traveling through the forest or the cave in The Sims Medieval only to wait for our sim to finish their heroic deed. I love how The Sims 4 is getting better when it comes to making the world more interactive for the players.
- Traits/Kingdom XP: I love the fatal flaw and legendary traits and hope they make a return as well as the Kingdom XP. I love how in the original game if you're not on top of your kingdom's knowledge, welfare, culture, and keeping a good relationship with neighboring kingdoms effects your world as a whole.
These are my ideas for now. If I come up with more, I'll be sure to post them. Thank you for reading this! Anyone is allowed to comment to give me their honest opinions.
@GlitteryRose, I don't work for EA , but I love your ideas!:eahigh_file: I really enjoyed the Sims Medieval and my favorite time period is the Victorian era! ❤️ I would buy this in a heartbeat! 🥳 (Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books! )
Sadly from what I gather EA doesn't take ideas from people who aren't in the company. ☹️ Your best bet is to get a job with them.🤔

Your idea was right up my alley, but I'm not an employee, just a volunteer. 😉 But I wish your idea would be made into a game! 🤞
Happy Simming! 😇
