The things that are missing

This may not be a popular take...there are so many things that are lovely and wonderful about Sims 4. I love the look, the worlds, the evolution of the game, but there is something missing.

For one thing, I loved the cars and Sims learning to drive. I also loved older Sims carrying a cane if you wanted them to, the fact that Sims looked their age. I loved that there were strollers in Sims 3 and curfews when kids were out too late. I also loved that grandparents showed up and kids ran to hug them, or hugged their parents when they came home. I feel like there is something disconnected still. When a spouse got caught cheating on their partner and family saw it, they were just as upset as the spouse. Now no one really cares. It just feels like the social connection of the game is lost. Yes it's beautiful, but I miss some things. Also, I loved that in Sims 3, there were Sims who were dating in high school and ended up getting married. There was cool stuff. I've been playing since Sims 1 and I love the evolution of the game, but I can't help but miss some of the things that made the game truly special. Sorry to complain, it's not really a complaint...just a wish that some of the great things about earlier games could be incorporated into this really pretty game.

  • I should have clarified that in Sims 3, there were characters that were built into the game and they were dating other Sims you may not have been playing but they would have gotten married. Kind of like neighborhood stories that happen in Sims 4 where families might have children, etc even if you aren't playing with them. But it was cool to have Sims do their things without you playing every character in the neighborhood.
