[Trait Request] Brooding The Underrated Sims 3 Trait
If I was to say my favourite trait from Sims 3 it be Brooding, and I would love this for Sims 4—if done right. I suspect that, Macabre might have been an answer to Brooding, but let me explain why this Sims 3 trait is underrated, and why I'd love it (if it worked the same/similar way) for Sims 4.
Brooding trait seemed to prevent my Sims from playing with their phones, especially with University Life came out and most Sims seem to non-stop be on their phones. I played themed/era games where I didn't want my Sim(s) on or using the phone—I'd give them the trait.
Brooding trait is a social trait, and acted as an overpowered Loner trait. A Sim could just Consider the Hollowness of Life or Contemplate the Meaning of Meaning and fill their social and fun bars. You pretty much wouldn't need any social or fun and since it was autonomous it almost always be maintained. This helped with adventuring and skill raising.
Brooding trait would autonomously look out the window, not only kept my Sim in character, they rarely did odd autonomous priorities. Usually only taking on autonomy from their other traits. But what I liked best is they'd fill their needs, and use looking out the window/the other brooding/other trait actions—instead of doing annoying things—in between my action lists for them.
If we got this trait it would be complimentary with the Macabre trait, or a Sim you rather focus on skilling/collecting/doing fables/etc. Anyways, I think it be great addition to Sims 4 if structured similarly to the original.
TLDR, Brooding helped:
- Prevent Sims from playing with their phone.
- Self-sustain their Social/Fun needs.
- Keep more autonomous actions/interactions specific to Sims' trait(s).
- Prevented many annoying autonomous actions/interactions.
