LOL!
My own cc would be free for me and I could make money off it too. That's not why I play a game like The Sims, I'm not trying to start a profitable business off the game I play, and I don't have judgement for anyone that is or wants to do that. If we have to buy products in-game at a virtual store along with purchasing DLC for the game, a lot of gamers will turn to creating their own cc. Then you have a virtual store or world store with more business in the market then customers. If you can create anything that is in the real world by making it yourself, why would you pay for it? 🙂
Second Life is not a game.
Second Life is definitely not a game. I heard about it today, and downloaded the app. It is terrible! It is definitely not a game but computer code with no life. The graphics are terrible, and that is the number one metric I use for grading video games. I played them when they were 8 bit, 16, 26, to now. And that is one of the reasons I started this discussion. A lot of metaverse games are popping up and I think Sims is a much better world. Good point about why pay when you can just create your own. Personally I have no idea how to create custom content if it is not in the game. I can build my own house etc but mods and cc, I did not get into that. I had a bad experience with mods back in the day and have no interest in learning, I’m too old and time is not as abundant as it was. Good convo! Thanks for your input!
Sims is not a metaverse though and there aren't many players who want it to become one. There are technical reasons why all metaverse type "games" don't look good and if Sims were to become one then it would need to make similar choices with regards to either have multiple players and bad graphics or have good graphics but make it single player.
Have you ever heard of Star Citizen? It is an online game that is massive and the graphics are great. A metaverse to me is just online communication with your avatar. The worlds currently being built are not so good. Thanks for your input!
There are a lot of great tutorials on YouTube and on the sim forums that can teach you how to make cc and recolor cc starting with something simple like a t-shirt or chair! I think anyone can do it if they really want to teach themselves to make custom content.
I'm just too lazy. There's way too much to do in these games already. 🙂
