Yes, Sims 3 was open world from the beginning which, for me at least, makes the loading screens in Sims 4 unbearable as they destroy the immersion in the world. Having a loading screen when your sim simply crosses the road to another lot is crazy. But I guess it was for a reason, probably loading all the contents of the lot or something.
Interesting that you think Maxis are bringing open world to Sims 4 and they won't be adding any further new worlds. What are you basing this on? Do you have any links you can provide?
