You can select the ceiling tiles paint and delete it, same as you do for floors.

With the "ceilings by room" highlighted, the rightmost icon.
When selecting a "floor" swatch I get taken to the ceiling view where i can paint by room. If I then select the delete/hammer tool the view switches to the default room view, and I cannot select the ceiling. Clicking on the floor deletes the whole floor.
How are you doing it?

You could try using the TS3 style camera, it has more flexibility for viewing. To be honest I haven't played with ceiling paint in a while as I don't use it that often, but last time I used it, it was possible to delete them. Google says that in order to revert to original colour you need to delete the ceiling and then rebuild it. If that is not an option, you could try finding a similar enough swatch you could use. If you are using the TS4 camera, you don't often see the ceiling anyway, reason why I don't bother with them much myself.

Just in case anyone with the power to add a swatch is reading this.
Deleting and rebuilding the ceiling for some reason leaves it a greasy grey color, it does not revert to the original default white.
There is no way to revert back to the default ceiling once it has been changed.

mummum601 for a white ceiling swatch go into Floor and Ceiling Patterns>Stone and look for "Barely Concrete" it's the first choice in the 3rd row it has a white swatch that I use for pure white ceilings, select "Ceilings by Room" to apply it.
You don't delete the ceiling first as that will remove it. If you accidentally do delete it, select the room, choose the control to click Up while the room is selected, you'll see a yellow border that you need to click on to build the ceiling again.
