weather forecasts for travelling sims

I have often wondered if it would be useful to have a little weather icon show up on the worlds screen so you would know before your sims travel if it was cold, hot, rainy, snowy, etc.  What do you think?  Has EA Games already explored this and determined it would be a difficult add?  Just wondering.
