What Ever Happened To Game Packs

I miss game packs, they were affordable and covered things that didn't require an entire Expansion Packs.  Does anyone know if there are going to be any new ones in the future or EA isn't doing them?

  • I miss Gameplay Packs too.  I wish they would make a comeback.😭

    My favorite Gameplay Packs are:

    1. Spa Day
    2. Outdoor Retreat
    3. Werewolves
    4. Realm of Magic
    5. Vampires
    6. Jungle Adventure
    7. Strangerville
  • Yeah, I feel you... This is why I don't buy EP at launch anymore, I wait patiently a year when the price will be 50% off.

  • i have love-hate relationship with Game Packs, i either love the Game Packs or i hate them

    my favourite are:

    1: Jungle Adventure
    2: Parenthood
    3: Spa Day
4: Realm Of Magic (minus Glimmerbrook itself because of so little lots)
5: My Wedding Stories (the wedding itself is a disaster but everything else is great)
6: Werewolve (so little lots but you can explore around more)

i dislike the other 6 Game Packs, either because of bugs or because there isn't much (or any) Gameplay in my opinion

but i want them back, i miss Game Packs, i wonder what happens to Game Packs

    My Favorites are (with caveats)

    1. Vampires (Best version of Vampires in all the Sims iterations)
      1. Should have updated Forgotten Hollow when Life & Death came out. Cemetery was a must here. Also needed a Bell Tower particular to the Town
      2. Vampire Lounge should have been added back as a bar choice
      3. Pet Bats & Bat House (optional but a nice touch)
      4. Eclipsing Fog from Sims 3 should have come back as a power.
      5. I would have given them an aversion to Silver as a weakness. So no Silver Jewelry
      6. I would have added Goulash back into the game either here or Life & Death
      7. Dracula's Outfit (Bela Lugosi version) should have been an unlockable costume added to the choices for costumes for Spooky Stuff Pack (I believe cross-pack compatibility should be a cornerstone of the Sims)
      8. Vampire References to make it more fun
        1. "Dark Greetings" - Special greeting from "What We do in the Shadows" the TV show
        2. "Dead But Delicious" - When Vain Vampires wear fancy clothing to go out. Also reference to the WWDITS the movie
        3. Vlad should have a special answer if you ask him where he went to University, Scholomance. This is from Dracula, the Bram Stoker novel.
        4. All white horses should become frightened around Vampires. This is lore accurate
        5. Evil Vampires should make plants wilt when they pass by them. Bram Stoker's Draculal
    2. Spa Day
      1. Maybe should have added wraps as a treatment
      2. Personally I would have put Juicing and the Juicer appliance in here. Then updated when new harvestables were introduced
      3. I would have made the Spa a no Paparazzi space
    3. Werewolves - (best Werewolves have been)
      1. Needed NPC Deer, Wolves & Skunk to make the area seem more alive
      2. Werewolves needed a more menacing look too.
      3. Needed to be able to make their own pack too. Not just be forced to pick one of the two
      4. Needed a slightly bigger zone and more lots but great looking in my opinion.
      5. Needs an Aversion to Silver same as Vampires
    4. Realm of Magic - I have my disagreements with this pack but it's adequate.
      1. The neighborhood is too small and most everything is a shell
      2. I dislike the kiosk stores (Sims 3 did it better).
      3. Enchanting objects would have been a great addition here.
      4. They should have been called Witches like the other games.
      5. Dueling would be better if you could duel other creatures too.
    5. Outdoor Retreat - Good but overdue for a refresh.
      1. The biggest disappointment is the lake you can't swim or boat on it.
      2. No Bigfoot.
      3. The cabins are kinda ugly.
      4. I would have updated the area when Snowy Escape came out and gave it a place to rock climb too. Added benefit with minimal work and gave this pack something else to recommend it.
      5. Needed more decorative build items for the cabin aesthetic. They went cheap and ugly here.
      6. I would have added the Bon Voyage camp objects back in
        1. Log Roller
        2. Axe Throwing
        3. Tug o' War - New item
    6. Dining Out - Also quite overdue for a refresh. I suggest fix the problems.
      1. Then introduce restaurant genres as a Sub-Lot type. Ex: Restaurant - French Bistro or Restaurant - Japanese Steakhouse.
      2. Then just added a couple of decorative items to fit one or two genres and brought the Hibachi stove from Sims 3.
    7. Jungle Adventure - It's no Sims 3 World Adventure but I thought it was limitedly fun.
      1. I would have made Archaeologist a career and made Egyptologist as specialty branches for various areas of expertise as it pertained to available worlds.
      2. Why can we not get a Bullwhip for these kinds of packs
    8. My Wedding Stories - I have my disagreements
      1. You could have kept traditional names for the roles and ADDED new titles but no you continue to try to placate a small group of people and angering others and it wasn't necessary there is room for everyone
      2. I also don't appreciate that they released it with so many issues.
      3. I am also still a little peeved you cannot included Dogs into the wedding party.
      4. No updates to Flower Arranging that was an obviously stupid decision.
