I know! Like on all the post that the sims post on yt the first comment I see is like fix your game. But I think why c at you be grateful that they are fixing the game? I genially love the game and it’s so fun. People are so mean and ungrateful sometimes. 

They said over a year ago at this point that they were doing a BIG bug fixing push for the next 6 months- and after those 6 months ended they kept doing it. 

In September of last year a patch came out that made the game more performant than ever. For the first time ever 4x speed overnight went off without a hitch. The game got so much smoother, and I didn't see ANYONE talking about it. If you watch footage of the game on launch- like James Turner's first gameplay video- load screens were 40+ seconds. Nowadays even with all packs they're not even close to that long. The game just keeps improving. 

Recently there's been articles about a push for not just performance but core upgrades to the game. I am hoping we get another lighting update of some kind, and dreaming of (but not expecting) a texture resolution bump. Would be nice if they increased the LOD distance too, or gave us an option to improve it without editing graphics ini files! 

The support for this game is really astonishing. The other 3 ended after 4 years, and were a bit gutted in the middle when development would start on the next game concurrently. This one's going stronger than the others ever could dream of. The content is cheaper-per-item than ever, we aren't being screwed by the Sims 3 Store monetization that did things like put 3 separate magic sets behind a paywall that were pricier than a Stuff Pack with way less content, and still didn't really feel like they made any sense without buying an entire expansion alongside them (in fact, did you know there's a cottage mill set on the sims 3 store that, for 20 dollars, gives you fewer items than Cottage Living had in DEBUG??? And one of the FEATURE ITEMS- a water wheel- is in fact part of Cottage Living DEBUG? the FREE SCRAPS CONTENT they let you have???).

The Sims has never been doing so right by the players IMO. 

I'd also like to add my thanks for the continued efforts to fix bugs and improve the game. Keeping the game alive and improving it are not guarantees in this world, since the emphasis has usually been on getting the next product released and getting more money from that. This is an interesting experiment, to see how long a popular game can be sustained (with multiple full teams working on it all the time, I might add; that is NOT a cheap thing to do). I for one don't mind continuing to put money into it if it means the team, that has done such a good job for so long (not just on this game, but on all the Maxis games) can continue to work, get the resources they need, and improve the quality. Rather than viewing it as a game that I keep putting money into, I view it as an experience that I put money into to keep going. So I hope that the team will continue to be given the resources by EA to make those improvements and keep adding new things. So long as they are supported by what we give, I am happy to give it.

Yes! Too many complaints, not enough thanks. I posted my first bug issue recently and the response from crinrict​ was immediate. It made me feel heard. 

I will always want to hope/strive for a better game; as I hope to strive for me to be better too. I do this by trying to always provide helpful feedback and wish list feedback. And I won't blow up/self-destruct if my specific idea(s) never come to fruition.

Otherwise, I do try to provide as much (or more) positive comments/feedback as I do negative. For example the EbN positive and negative threads, I always tried to post in the positive every time I had provided a negative. And even my negative had underlining positive notes as well.

I think what doesn't help, at least on the forums, is that many people come here as a last resort to their frustration—instead of looking for a community to post with other like minded players to start with. I don't know if that is just telling of the times or if the Sims community forums aren't as fun and friendly as they use to be—due to people just gathering on alternate social platforms.

Unfortunately as someone who has been here the entire time- way back on http://www.thesims.ea.com/ on the BBS (bulletin board system, it's what we called message boards before they were called message boards and way before they were called forums), the sims community has always been very vocally negative. I can remember specific usernames of people on the BBS in 2001 complaining about the game endlessly, and with the same unreasonable complaints people have today.

The happy players are just playing the game. 

Oh, maybe I was too busy on the Creative Corner forums in Sims 3 to see the mass complaints. We had a great CC community and it was super active, I see in Sims 4's CC it is less of a roar than Sims 3's CC. I had a really great time back then—that is all I remember XD

I never commented in the forums back then until the final year. I was too busy posting in-game memories on my sims 3 page and competing in modeling competitions. 

When Sims 4 was announced I think most if not all players were expecting it to be like Sims 3 on steroids...a lot of simmers were let down with the base game.

When the competitions left in 2014...I felt abandoned and resorted to posting in the Off-Topic section of the sims 3 forums.

Off-Topic transfered to the old sims 4 forums thankfully and I continued to post there. 

Today we don't have an Off-Topic section or Sims Modeling  section. Most the players that were in the modeling section of the Sims 3 forums left as soon as Sims 4 came out..

The same with world creators in sims 3...my favorite creators.

They all quit the forums and moved on.

Bug fixing is critical for the game and players to exist. I hope EA can fix the game enough to bring back amazing gamers.

If I'm not mistaken--and please, anyone, feel free to fact-check me here--Crinrict is not employed by EA.  She is an independent volunteer, a player helping fellow players, although EA does give her all Sims packs for free via the EA Creator Network.

I love the fact that we have a forum to report bugs and they do get heard. At the end of the day how would the devs know that things are happening in their game if we didn't have a place to voice our issues. There's always going to be those few who just mouth off for the sake of mouthing off and don't really want a solution to their problems just want attention, as the saying goes "there's always one 🙄" I can't begin to imagine how complicated and time consuming it is to fix bugs in a game of this magnitude with so many variables regarding what packs people own, whether they use mods or not what console they're on, it boggles my mind how bug fix teams do it! Video games are real life magic and we should all be grateful there are people out there that want nothing more than to make our experience with the game better. Hats off to all the team and I really appreciate all you do, thank you ❤️
