What if The Sims were made for different Generations?

This commentary/post is for entertainment purposes only and is intended for satire/parody.  It expresses personal opinions and should not be taken as factual information.  This content is not intended to offend anyone.  However, if the content is found offensive, it is the reader's responsibility to maintain their reaction. 😀

IF THE SIMS WERE GENERATION X

There would be a middle-age, age group

  • Women would experience menopause: Hot Flashes, forgetfulness, insomnia, mood swings, gaining weight at the mere sight of food,
  • There would be a random new mid-life crisis moonlet; they would be happy one minute with their career but then just want to change careers once they reach the peak of their current career
  • They would have an empty nest moonlet when the kids move out: They would get lonely, call the kids, but the kids would be "too busy"
  • They might even "raise" their grandchildren, as their children work 2 jobs each just to support their family.

RETIREMENT COMMUNITY:

  • A new lot where older sims can move in and enjoy being around other sims their age.
  • Maybe an assisted living home

THE SIMS ALSO HAVE OLDER TRAITS

  • When they get older they can become the grumpy or cool grandparent.
  • They get a "health" moonlet, that reminds the sims to exercise or take their medication.
  • They have to see the doctor regularly
  • They become more forgetful, get tired more easily, fall asleep in mid conversation,
  • They complain about aches and pains.

IF THE SIMS WERE  MILLENNIAL

  • Crushing Student Loan Debt:  They would have to pay back their student loan debt at 1/4th of their weekly income, and it will NEVER go down no matter how much they pay it
  • Burnout:  The sims would get a burnout trait if they were in their career w/o a raise for too long.
  • They would, no matter how much they earn, always struggle to pay their rent - because rent was just too darn high
  • Sims would take on side hustles just to pay rent, maybe even open an "Only Sims" account only.
  • Their career could be "cancel culture" online.
  • Living Their Best Life:¨ Your sim might express that they are living their best life during struggles.

The oldest Gex Xers were born in 1965, not really close to living in a assisted living home. That would be my grandparents who are the older than the baby boomer generation. As a younger Gen X myself, I can not say I honestly relate to anything you wrote here to describe what you believe sims of that generation should experience. I don't even relate to the descriptions for what you believe the generation that is only about 2 years younger than me experiences either.

  • Word! 👀

Us X Generation don't give a shingle about any of it...never did.

    I'm not on menopause yet..This is how I am.🤪😛

I'm Generation X too - hence the 1978 in my username.   As much as I hate to admit it, we are getting close to this stuff.

Much of what you described for Gen X is actually what I attibute to either the Silent Gen or the the older Baby Boomers. Only ONE of my silent Gen grandparents just went into an assisted living home less than a year ago, at the age of 86. The other that is still alive lives independently at home. I expect to not go into that type of a place for another 50+ years. I am not a grandparent yet, my oldest child is age 22 and my youngest child is only age 12. It will be some time before I have an "empty nest.: I am only about a year younger than you, and I still say I honestly can not relate. I do not play the Sims for any realism, so my adult and elder sims act eactly the same as the young adult sims. I have made an old folks apartment complex, just to house some single elders, it is like a 55+ onlly allowed housing situation, not an old folks home. Btw, I have been playing the franchise since my early 20's, and can say I have NEVER played it for a realism aspect.

  • I personally like Realism in the game and I would like the middle age sim Lifestage with what OP has suggested i think it will bring more a gameplay and life to the game.
