What is this "End Secrecy and Become Official" nonsense?

So, today's update has changed the "Ask to be Romantic Partner" relationship interaction to "End Secrecy and Become Official".

In other words, the game has just decided for me that all of my Sims who happen to be in non-exclusive, romantic relationships are in fact having  "secret" relationships.

But I don't have any Sims in secret relationships. I have plenty of Sims in open relationships and I have plenty Sims dating casually. None of these relationships are secret. The game can't read my mind and therefore should not be defining the nature of my Sims romantic relationships. I have my own imagination, thank you very much.

Change this back to the way it was.

I agree as a long time sims player most of my sims are not in secret relationship or keeping romantic interests secret. Only if they are sleeping around while in a relationship do they keep it secret

Exactly. This change to the interaction just assumes that every non-exclusive romantic relationship between two Sims has to be either: a) an extramarital affair, or b) Romeo and Juliet.

They're not all secret relationships. I'll decide for myself when and if a relationship is going on in secret.

  • In a new save I started after the latest update, I came across this interaction between my sim and her, now, fiancé. Was it added intentionally, or accidentally? She's a spellcaster, he's non-occult.

Judging how "secret lovers" is suppose to be apart of the new scandal system in the new pack my best guess is EA probably accidentally published it with the last update. I don't think this is the first time they have done that either.
