@The_Ratticator Nice paying attention to details! I haven't visited Selvadorada (though I have the pack), nor have I gone to the food stalls in Brindleton Bay. I have, however, found that the recipes from Cats & Dogs did turn up in the menu options when I made restaurants, which is great, especially for a seafood restaurant. 🦐
I just did a bit of research and it does seem that they made it so that when you eat these foods at the food stalls in Brindleton Bay you can cook them (with the proper Homestyle Cooking and Gourmet Cooking skills). I also learned that the Selvador recipes require a high level of the Selvadorian Culture skill to finish and learn. Then there are the 'experimental dishes' (which I believe come with 'Dine Out') that require cooking skill of 5 and to eat the dish to learn - but you also need the chef station to cook them on (a regular stove will not do). Then there's the Baking Skill that comes with 'Get to Work' which unlocks all of the lovely baking recipes, some of which require that you have the herbs/fruits, which is a great reward for those of us that love gardening and cooking skills. And, of course, you know how San Myshuno works. Then there's the Cupcake Factory. Gotta love that one! 🧁
It seems that different packs may or may not have food that can be learned, cooked at home, used in restaurants, etc. With some of the above I can see they varied what I took to learn/make the recipes, but it seems there is a way to do so in some packs. I rather like this, and it sounds like you do also, but you just want there to be a method available. 🤔
For the Sulani recipes, have you tried using the fire pit? You cannot cook those recipes in a regular stove. But sorry, I have no idea on the Avocado toast one. Avocados are from Selvadorian, though. 🥑

Yeah, we've always been able to learn the San Myshuno, Brindleton Bay, and Selvadorada food stand recipes, as well as the experimental foods in Dine Out. I just checked the foods that can be made in the BBQ pit. These include fish dinner, kalua pork, pork adobo (which can also be learned in San Myshuno and cooked on a normal stove), tofurkey dinner, and island vegetable feast. Some of these I could see being BBQ pit-exclusive, but others such as BBQ salmon, fish stew, poke bowl, etc, feel like they could easily be made at home. And the Britechester food stall dishes all sound like things that could be made at home (also the avocado toast). Long story short, I find it a little odd how they let us learn food stand foods/experimental foods in earlier packs, but then they stopped letting us.

@The_Ratticator Well, this is the right place to voice your feedback on the issue, no worries, and to look for others with the same interest. 🤞🏻

I know this is an older post, but I just wanted to throw out my support for getting to learn these recipes too. I'm an avid cook at home and my sims often are too! I love having them learn new dishes!
