<= What do the points in the circle mean?

I've tried searching for an answer but didn't find one.  I get what the push pin, the check mark, the lock, EA all mean.  But I can't figure out where the points come from.  Some of them have a little circle of fire...

  • @AppleBlossom3  The points are the amount of XP that would be granted for solving a particular thread, as in, the original poster or another user with extra abilities clicks "Accept as solution" on the post.  The XP comes from AHQ_Official, an account specifically for that purpose.

The amount of XP a solution is "worth" increases with more posts in the thread, more Me Toos, and more time since the original post.  I think the idea is to reward solutions that take more work, help more people, or solve a problem that's been around for a while.

The flames are supposed to denote a hot topic, although the standard for what's considered hot seems to be a bit generous.
