@simsplayer818 , I can see that! The Simpsons were everywhere throughout the prior decade to The Sims being launched and the names are similar! But the question is: "Did you ever make a Simpson's family in the Sims?!?" 🤔😄
Will Wright, who created the Sims did say it was like a dollhouse! I never had a dollhouse growing up, unless you count the Barbie Dreamhouse that my neighbors gave me (and while I loved the elevator, I hated Barbies, so it had limited use for me! But my friend had a beautiful, traditional dollhouse! But The Sims is better, like you said! You can have multiple houses and "dolls" all different from one another! And now the "dolls" change over time! 🥳
I understand how your experience made you fearful of Vampires and not like them in the game. Phobias can run deep. I have a phobia of bees and wasps due to being attacked by wasps as a toddler... logically I know not to panic, but my body won't obey my mind in these instances. I think that is why I'm creeped out by sunflowers because the centers of them remind me of wasp nests. 😖
Sims 3 Pets for console and the ghost zapper! I forgot about that.😂 I do remember the Sims 3 for PC & Mac had an EP that had ghost busters in it that had a ghost vacuum or zapper in it. I do remember the fancy pet beds and dog castle! 🥰
A sensible gamer is still a gamer! 😃
I love your description of other classic video game characters!🤣 And I'm happy you can play Sims 4 again after not being able to for a while! 🥳
@MissNOFX , partly, yes! I definitely have to use lotion on my feet and hands, but my feet are usually cold so I have to wear socks a lot of the time. But it isn't just my feet I can't stand rubbing on the carpet... I can't even stand the sound of other people doing it!😅 Ice being scraped of a windshield does not bother me , but I hate the feel of pencils, and always preferred pens, even to do math or crossword puzzles! 🤭 Mechanical pencils were not an option because the lead would break so easily. Erasable pens were my best bet! But I have Sensory Processing Disorder which is often found in people with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, but I think you can have SPD on its own -- however I'm not sure. 🤷♀️
Yes, I find the supernatural Sims fun to play because they have different abilities and disabilities in the game so it is almost like playing a different version of the game, or even like playing the same game from a different point of view! 🥳 I think it adds variety to the game, but I certainly understand how many people don't like it!
I'm not as fond of realistic gameplay. I do laundry in real life, I don't need it in the game! 😅 Then again, if it is an emotional/family bond kind of thing that is present in real life (such as pets), then I crave that kind of realism! Or if it is a realistic thing that actually produces something or gives our Sims a skill, like Handiness, or Knitting, then I'm all for that in the game! But just laundry for laundry's sake is not my favorite. 😂
I also have a bee/wasp phobia and I don't know if other countries have these but in the UK we have a type of pretty rare bee that builds homes in walls we call masonry/concrete bees and I currently have them in a wall outside. But I don't like to kill bees so it's a dilemma! I tolerate them and flee when I see one. I added them for my farm Sims though as a kind of exposure therapy lol but I can't bring myself to do the same with vampires/werewolves. I also have a paralysing fear of hospitals and deep water so I added those to my game too and actually it helps! You can actually make the Sims into a simulation scenario for some phobias I find. It's very versatile like that.
I do love Realm of Magic and haven't had anything like that in my game before as on PC I never had DLC. I have a powerful witch versus a Wiccan who never duels and just helps nature. But Glimmerbrook is so small, if I could have the werewolf world, minus werewolves I'd make it an extension of Glimmerbrook.

@simsplayer818 , Yes!!! That was an episode in one of the earliest seasons, but I don't remember which season it was! It was hilarious.🤣 You could make Maggie a toddler and then never teach her to talk , but we don't have pacifiers so she wouldn't look quite right. Maggie sounds like the babies in The Sims 2 that would escape from their cribs if their parents wouldn't let them out! 😅
We have mason bees in the States, but I don't know if I've encountered them or not. I'm so sorry you have them in your wall ! Perhaps a professional can safely relocate them?
I had a Wasp scare the other day! Luckily they just stayed on their nest, but their nest was above my front door! I can handle the bees in the beebox in the game, because those are kind of like pets (or so I tell myself) and are good for the garden and make honey. And I realize our real life bees are in danger! But the wasps in Jungle Adventure freak me out! 😰 I can see how some things in TheSims could help some people get over certain phobias. People who are afraid of dogs might start out with having a dog in the game, getting used to looking at it and hearing the sounds it makes , etc. It wouldn't cure them, but it could be a first step to a cure!
Well the Werewolf pack and Vampire pack aren't the packs for you, but good thing the Sims has a wide variety! 🥳 What are your favorite packs in TS4? - simsplayer8183 years agoHero@PugLove888 You'd be amazed how many contractors have heard bees, 2 storeys up, ladder, etc and run a mile!! It makes me laugh in the game when Sims call them "beevsies". I find myself doing the same and forgetting my friends are there till they say "what's a beevsie?".
I love the cottage living pack but the bugs still need work and enraged me in the beginning, same with snowy escape. Island Living is one of my absolute favourites too. For gameplay I really like the jungle and outdoor retreat packs as well as get to work. I wish the careers were fixed though on get to work. DHD would have been a favourite if the bugs were fixed. We didn't have these worries with Bustin Out! At least on my console I didn't. - PugLove8883 years agoHero (Retired)
@simsplayer818 , Beevsies! 🤣 I love how you call them that in real life, unintentionally confusing those around you! I once called pizza chum chum and my husband was confused... he thought I talking about chumming the waters for sharks! 🦈😅 I've said nooboo to my nieces and nephews when they were babies, but nobody thought anything of it, since it sounded like I was just talking baby talk to them! 😄
My favorite EP is Cats & Dogs , but that is closely followed by Seasons. 3rd place is Cottage Living. Before last year, my 3rd place was City Living, probably followed by Get to Work, although that needs a lot of bug fixes and could do with a refresh for the Aliens.
My favorite GPs are a bit harder to sort. Probably Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, Vampires, Realm of Magic, and Dream Home Decorator.
Yes, Get to Work certainly needs some bug fixes! As for the old Bustin' Out, I guess since it was a much smaller and more contained game, it didn't collect all the problems the much bigger and more expansive main versions of the Sims collected! There was just less chance of error. 😉 - simsplayer8183 years agoHero@PugLove888 I waited ages to add Seasons because of the weather aspect and seasonal affect on planting (quickly realised it's fine, I switch the rain off and put plants inside a little greenhouse if necessary) I absolutely loved it once I added it. I love the decor and flower arranging is my absolutely favourite skill. I immediately added loads of flower shops, created the Egg Hunt and finally met the Flower Bunny.
I think many gamers have that one game that's their special one. After taking little breaks to try a different game so I don't get bored or because of bugs I always return to it with a warm feeling and appreciation for the creativity even though the bugs drive me up the wall and I haven't missed the crashing. Trying out a game that has the initials ACNH (which feels a lot like a cult run by small bears) I'm yelling at it, "but in The Sims we do it like this and in The Sims my house is bigger and I'd own this island"! I'll be glad to get back to my Sims but I'm persevering!
I've recruited a few new players too over the years as I often put it on to show people what I've been building and it's always a special thing when you help someone create their first build, even though you want to tell them they're doing it wrong. With apologies to my goddaughter whose first build as a child was just a large purple box with me in Sim form added to it looking extremely garish. Bless her and new little simmers everywhere! - PugLove8883 years agoHero (Retired)
@simsplayer818 , yes, even though C & D is my favorite pack (as most people can tell by my name and avatar 🥳 ) I have to say that Seasons is the one pack I recommend to everybody, even over Cats & Dogs! 🥰 I can't think of a single person who dislikes this pack (i'm sure there is someone, but I never heard them list it as a hated pack). And it is usually high on everybody's list! 😄 We all might not like pets, or the city, or the country or vampires, or beaches, or celebrities, etc., and most of us will not have experience with all of those things (especially vampires!😉 ) but all of us experience weather, to some extent! And every culture and country has holidays, so these are things that most people can relate to! Plus there are just fun things to do on your home lot with your Sims in that pack!
I'm so happy you are enjoying Seasons! I love to garden in the Sims, so that is an added bonus to me! I even love how sometimes lightning will strike the ground near your house and leave a metal or crystal! 🤓
I understand rotating games. I do it myself , but I play the Sims the most! I also play ACNH, but I have played 3 other older versions of that game as well. Animal interactions were better in the older versions but landscaping is better in the newer version. My other favorite game deals with a brave guy, often dressed in green, running around fighting evil while being obsessed with triangles!
My niece when she was young was so impressed that I had the original Sims! I let her make her own household and house and she was so excited! She didn't come over for a while after that, and by the time she did, my computer had died and with my new one I was able to play The Sims2. She was excited about that as well, but buy then she was in high school and was quite busy so she didn't have as much time to visit. But I understand! I do have one relative that also plays the Sims 4 , on console like you! 😎
