coloncocon yes I usually have the same co-stars too. I've been playing the pack for several years and there isn't much variation at all. I have other played Sim actors created by me but with the active careers you don't always see your own Sims except for one or two. I read that it's to do with their career ranks and how many the game allows on the active career lot at the same time.
It actually created a massive issue for me when I played a Sim who was Judith Ward's daughter in my previous save. When she got to the set her co-star was her mother. It was a bit of a shock to say the least. I started playing the career by sending her to work alone after that. I just couldn't have her acting with her mother obviously given the nature of the performance it was totally inappropriate.

simsplayer818 Thank you for your reply, which shares your experience with this pack for several years. This is the first year I played Get Famous in depth (not counting the free-trial period), so I'm not sure if it's normal or not.
If I understand right, you said about two cases..
1. having the same co-stars
Is it like getting Sim A (and also Sim B if there are 2 co-stars in that gig) every time you have a gig in the same save file? I also made an unplayed sim actress who is level 7 or 8, but she didn't appear even to practice in the studio.
After seeing you mention career rank, it might be related. I remembered that all randomly generated actors (I mean townies) have level 1, just like scientist co-workers. I will recheck the level of existing actors in my game.2. Judith's daughter has Judith as the co-star
Did they stay in the same household? And did Judith appear as the co-star every time after that (like the above case)? I saw during searching about the issue that someone has a problem with "having a love scene with parents" too.Sorry if I asked too much, feel free to share if you have time to answer. At least I now know that there are more issues than I expected.

coloncocon my Sim was created from Judith Ward using Play with Genetics in Create a Sim as her young adult daughter. I created Judith's back story as a contentious divorce from a legendary Bollywood actor and they had a daughter raised by him who is based on Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, she's my most beloved fan favourite Actor Sim while Judith has a negative reputation so they become rivals. I had Judith Ward as a cold mother and split her daughter from her household. They didn't have a strong relationship at all but she was still showing as her mother. I lost her when I lost my game unfortunately but at least I get to look forward to the fun of recreating their story.
By the way, you can sometimes find the Sims from the movie studio in Other Households and delete them. So that will generate new Sims to appear instead. If they don't show up in other households (because that can happen with NPC Sims) you can befriend them and ask them to move into your Sim's household and then delete them in Create a Sim. I've done that before to get rid of Sims.
With the other active careers such as Scientist and Detective, I only see 1 or 2 of my other Sims on the lot. I was told it's because of how the game will staff certain levels and fill roles but I don't know it in depth.

Thank you so much for your in-depth information. It's interesting to know how you set the story of Judith's daughter in your game. Now I know why you can't accept that Judith is a co-star picked by the game.
If it's only once time and randomly, it might be okay to ignore or reopen the game to random again. But I think the co-star role is picked immediately after passing the audition, because in my game, the new director and co-star are generated at that time.
By the way, you can sometimes find the Sims from the movie studio in Other Households and delete them. So that will generate new Sims to appear instead.
I didn't use the delete method, but when I found an unwanted director or co-star, I exited the game without saving and playing the audition again. When I get Sims that I like, I keep them and save them.
I don't want to delete those co-stars to get the new one because they are part of my game already. I made over every outfit and befriended them. I still want them to be in the studio, but I just want to switch the co-star choice to be other actor sims in my game.
So, after knowing that fixed co-star is a thing, I can only accept it until I can find the other method to change the co-star without deleting.

I used mods like "Show Sim Info" or MCCC to check the hidden trait or career level of these co-stars, but I can't see specific traits to make them co-stars. Their career are all level 1 too.
However, I found that
- Actors who are generated by the game to only practice acting, but not being a co-star, have acting skills over level 5.
- Actors who are generated to be co-stars have a level lower than 3 (or they start from 0).
I may try to add a sim who is an actor but has no skill, and see if the game picks new sims. But right now, I will try to get the movie gig, which is the rank that I haven't tried before. (I've just reach career level 8)
With the other active careers such as Scientist and Detective, I only see 1 or 2 of my other Sims on the lot. I was told it's because of how the game will staff certain levels and fill roles but I don't know it in depth.
I have 2 scientists from different households, and when I play with one sim, another one will appear as a co-worker. If not counting active sim, the scientist co-workers are 5 sims. I haven't made more scientists yet, but I guess that if there are more than 5, the game will pick randomly.
Sorry for the long discussion, but I want to share what I observe, which may be only in my game. However, your reply can provide more information about co-stars and co-workers from other experiences. It's useful for me. Thanks a lot!
