All non-premade sims are aromantic and asexual?

I've been playing a new save today and wanted to get my sim in a relationship. She is bisexual, so I had her start engaging with a few sims to discover their romantic and woo-hoo preferences. Three random sims she tried this with were all not interested in romance or woo-hoo with anyone. I checked a couple of townie sims and they were aromatic, exploring, and interested in woo-hoo with everyone, as expected.

Does this mean all the sims the game generates are going to have no interest in romance or woo-hoo for the whole of my legacy? Because that's going to make new generations tricky.

Four dates through Cupid's Corner for my dorm-bound dude interested in dating/woohoo with women only: first three sims aromantic/asexual, middle sim was listed as female and showed up male, last two sims were chosen from friends list and both aromantic/asexual. Technically, the first date was when he was still a teen, at home, and still not correct.
