All Origin data lost - including purchases of Sims 4 (with expansions)

Logging in to my origin account for the first time in quite a while, I noted that I now apparently didn’t have a game library (and would I like to get started on one...)

This was puzzling as I had already purchaseD Sims 4 (and at least Sims 4 Pets, possibly more expansions) and Mass Effect 3.

Checking my order history showed there had indeed been several purchases over several years, but that the description of the purchase was no longer available. Curious. What seems to be a system error had occurred.

Having checked a few work arounds I’ve deleted app and roaming data, deleted and reinstalled origin, all to no avail.

Apparently the only way to contact EA for such issues is via live chat. Great. Except the current waiting time is 16 hours.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Or managed to contact EA any other way?

@InfiniteVerve yes I got this resolved actually - fairly straightforward, but it does involve getting in touch via the live chat.

I was initially really put off by this as apparently the queue was going to take something like 16 hours. I joined, kept it running in the background and eventually got to the front of the queue about an hour and a half later (UK based so not sure if this had an impact on wait time).

Apparently there had been some attempted hack of my account some time ago. The person I was speaking to was able to de- then re-activate my account, adding a few extra layers of security access, and that got me back in with full access to games.

(We were disconnected towards the end of the call, and my customer support person apparently took that as a prompt to de-activate my account again, requiring *another*  attempt to contact the live chat - easily resolved when I did get speaking to someone again).

tl:dr get in touch via live chat. EA aren't exactly accessible any other way, at least in the UK

  • @gvakarian2509 I've had issues with live chat as well (most times the pop up window doesn't even show), and then there is a more serious issue of getting passed from one 'EA help" to another- all having the same comment "We can't help you but will forward your issue to someone who can"... and no one ever does fix the issues.

Can you let me know (on this thread, unless they close the thread to hide it) if you actually get any follow through?
