I was hoping this would work for me, but it didn't. I've exhausted all other possible options too. Restarted router, turned off my firewall, ran game as administrator from both the game and from Origin. Also plugged in a internet cable directly to my laptop instead of using wifi and nothing works for me. I recently downloaded all my Sims 4 games to a new laptop about 2 months ago and haven't been able to connect since. ☹️

I don't know if it will help you but you can try:
Change DNS to Cloudflare
Go to the "Control Panel",
Enable the "Network and Sharing Center",
From the menu on the left, select "Change network adapter settings",
right-click on the icon of the network you are connecting to and run "Properties"
now check "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4)",
turn on "Properties" (underneath),
check "Use the following DNS server addresses:
(before entering new data there, write down the DNS digital address that the computer is currently using if you want to restore it someday)
and enter the preferred server 1.1.1.1 and the alternative 1.0.0.1
confirm by clicking OK and restart the browser.
