In the blast from the past event, the last quest for week 2 is creating the time travel component. When doing this, it 'ate'/destroyed all of the other items in my sims inventory, even those completely unrelated to the event like a book and tarot cards. The only thing remaining in the inventory was the time travel component.

Well week 2 challenges of back to the past came out and I was diligently completing them. As I finally completed the Time Machine I went to claim all of the rewards. I was excited, the alarm clock would be perfect for my sims. I went to sort through my inventory to clear it up if milk cartons when I noticed the things I deemed most important were gone! No more bike, no homework, no death flower. I was distraught they were precious to me. So I figured I would just exit the whole game without saving. Whoops. I come back to all the week 2 rewards being claimed but nowhere to be found (not even in build buy mode), no Time Machine and no way to build my Time Machine but hey at least I saved my bike, flower and homework. How do I fix this? Is it a hopeless cause? Do I need to scrap this save file?
