What security software are you using ? Possible that it's blocking your user files, keeping the game from overwriting the necessary files.
Well, the last event ran perfectly fine, and this event was going fine up until that point. After posting this issue I decided to try again but this time instead I played it until all of each week's events were checked off and that seemed to override whatever was happening, but even so I shouldn't need to do that.
There's always changes to security software programs that can make something not work anymore.
