It's actually easier to just replace one bookshelf on the lot, rather than buying individual books. This will come back fully stocked for all bookshelves on the lot. You won't get back any additional books you've bought, and anything like homework books, vampire tomes etc will still have to be rebought. It's really annoying and for me at least seems to be related to the For Rent pack. Every time I leave the lot to play another household, when I come back all my bookcases are empty again.
