I dont know if this might be the reason for the issue you are having. But they are going to be doing maintenance sometime today. Here is the Twitter post mentioning it that I saw earlier.

I'm still having the same problem a week later.
I'm on Safari browser if that's any help.
At least I can still get on in game as long as my internet is on.- @rh2006fan Every time you start the game does it bring you to the screen that shows what packs you have? I'm an Xbox player but sometimes when I stop playing and save before shutting my Xbox off to go to bed for the night and start it back up the next day my game is right back where I left it when I select the game from the Xbox home menu.
And sometimes when that happens and I try to use the Gallery, it says there's no connection and I choose Try Again but it again says there's no connection so I have to fully exit the game and start it up again so I can look stuff up in the Gallery. ☺️I'm talking about this gallery- https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/pc/gallery
I have no problem when I'm in game and connected to the internet.
I can't sign into the Online Browser version of the Gallery.
