Bug - After save file recovery, all teens look identical (born or adopted)

A while ago, my SIMS 4 game crashed and corrupted my main save file. I followed some advice online and temporarily moved the corrupted save file out of the folder (this save is years old, so I can't just abandon it). After launching the game and then moving the file back in, the game can now read and save it normally. Since then, I haven’t had any further crashes or loading issues.

However, a new problem has appeared: every child grows up to look exactly the same as a teenager, no matter which family they’re from or whether they were born or adopted. During the child stage, they all look different as expected. But once they age up to teens, they become clones of each other!

This happens about 90% of the time. The only workaround I’ve found is restarting the game — sometimes that allows teens to appear with different faces (works as expected), but it's inconsistent.
