Sim_MRM I did a bit of testing and the only way I could get the condition shown in your pics is if I lowered the terrain by 2 clicks and placed the house in it, then raised the house by 1 click to get the foundation to show. If you flatten the lot afterwards, the area under the house does not move and stays depressed. The way to fix it is to click on the floor inside the house, grab the big double headed arrow in the middle of the house and pull up 1 click. That should level the house with the rest of the lot. You might have to pull up 2 clicks but most likely all that's needed is 1 click. My guess is the situation was caused by an uneven lot of which there are a couple in the game out of the box.

Thanks, I did try that but the arrow just changes the interior floor--which is even with the rest of the building. As I mentioned, the lot is not uneven, and the issue occurs on any lot where the building is placed or when the building is rotated. The issue is present on the exterior of one side of the building and runs along the exterior of several adjoining rooms.
