[BY DESIGN] [DLK] Curtain and Rod don't clip at the same height

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Français
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.91.205.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Packs: all except Wedding and Batuu. Kits: Maximalist, Industrial, Desert Luxe
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Place the small Desert Luxe Curtain and the decorative Rod next to each other.
What happens when the bug occurs? The Curtain and Rod don't clip at the same height.
What do you expect to see? The Small Curtain and Rod should clip at the same height, like the medium and large one.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

The Curtain rod and Small curtains don't clip at the right height. I guess it's not a "bug" but a lack of testing. Would be nice if they fixed it. Medium and Large curtains are fine.

Yes, I found this too except it also happens with the middle height wall.  But I found a workaround.  If you put the curtains up first at the height you want them, then move or delete the window, then place the decorative rod, then put the window back, they will line up.  For some reason, the rod wants to attach itself to the window frame rather than line up with the curtain height.  Strangely enough, they work fine together if you have curtains next to a door and extend the decorative rod over the door, but it doesn't work that way with windows.  Here is a pic showing what I mean.  I had to delete the windows, add the rod, then put the windows back.  Didn't have to do that for the door.

    Hope this helps.

  • @CGrant56 Thank you for the work around! I wish we didn't have to go through all these hoops, even if I should be used to it now! XD

I've been really struggling on Xbox Series X with the Modern Luxe curtain and poles too and then the Desert Luxe after that on the same house with tall walls and 4 different Discover University medium sized windows. I first couldn't line up the Modern Luxe ones, even with MOO on. The pole was snapping a fraction higher and even with free placement and MOO I couldn't stop it snapping to the wrong spot. I spent about half an hour then in frustration I switched to the Desert Luxe curtains. The tall size worked fine which was a relief but then I needed to place the medium ones over small windows on a platform because of the space and the pole wouldn't line up. Eventually after a long time I got it to work but with Repetitive Strain Injury my poor wrists were so painful. I probably should have just given up but I was determined it had to work.

I'll try the workaround suggested here tomorrow. I had problems with a short wall with and without a platform too on my other build and managed to get an image but it's just of the Modern Luxe and not the Desert Luxe. It still shows the issue though. Both kits have a similar issue. I haven't had a problem before with the Desert Luxe ones before now, I thought they were fine but they weren't today. Sometimes I can get it to work by shrinking them and using half grid snapping for the pole then free placement for the curtain but it's really frustrating.
