@whubble1817 The Origin Installs & Saves setting doesn't change the location of the Sims 4 user folder, as in, the one in Documents\Electronic Arts. The game will always look for the user folder in that location, and if it doesn't find one, or at least a symbolic link to point to where the folder is actually located, it'll create a new folder with no content.

@whubble1817 It doesn't matter where Sims 4 is installed, the game will always use the Documents directory to store user data. That's how it's programmed. I and many other people have installed the game on a secondary drive, and it doesn't affect where the user folder lands. The symbolic link is used to point that folder away from Documents, usually to a secondary drive, including when that drive already holds the game's program files.
