Can not attend guest lecture at University

I am doing a play through of Sims 4 University with the University aspiration. One of the goals is to attend guest lectures, however I can't. I go to the correct Uni buildings between 5-7 and pay the fee to attend the lecture then I just stand outside the building. I have tried both buildings at the uni I am attending, paid for all 3 lectures at both buildings but still nothing, I just stand their staring at the wall. Any suggestions how to fix this? I have tried rebooting the game but still no luck
