cannot apply a lot of a different venue type on owned lots from gallery
I keep getting the error "cannot apply a lot of a different venue type on owned lots" when trying to place a lot from the gallery. The lot is not marked as generic or special or locked in any way, I just can't place any lot from the gallery on to the lot that I purchased. This is beyond frustrating. I've uninstalled all CC and mods, uninstalled the game and even deleted all families I played with the CC and mods and it still will not let me place a lot for a business.
Help!
(I have tried changing the types of lot that it is to a spa but it has not worked either.)
I have all games that have been released and the most current patch.

When your sim is the owner of the lot, this lot has the "residential" feature. You can't change it as long as your sim is assigned there. This type of venue as SPA can only be placed on an uninhabited lot. Enter the "World Management" mode, click any empty lot, select the tool image at the bottom right and click it. You will be in this lot in building mode and you can download this SPA from the Gallery without any problems.
