Cannot go on vacations

Question

I have an issue - only in one save file - where my sims can’t go on vacation. When take a vacation is chosen from either phone/computer, sims go to the lot but it seems they have just travelled there and they can’t see/go inside the house. It doesn’t say that they’re on vacation in the calendar. This is even with all mods and cc removed. Pls help&nbsp;

@Amandamb21&nbsp;&nbsp; Thanks so much for sharing that!&nbsp; You have done some very extensive testing.&nbsp; You mentioned not having any other packs that give vacation lots.&nbsp; Does that mean you don't have the Outdoor Retreat, Jungle Adventure or Journey to Batuu packs?&nbsp; I thought if one of those could be interfering, then you could try disabling the pack, loading the save, saving your progress, and reenabling the pack to see if that made a difference with your vacations.&nbsp; Just remember that disabling packs removes any save data associated with those packs (CAS and Build/Buy items, traits, etc.)

@Amandamb21&nbsp;&nbsp; Hi!&nbsp; I'm so sorry you're having trouble with this.&nbsp; I did some testing in a mod-free save and didn't encounter any problems.&nbsp; Since you mentioned that you removed your mods / CC and then tested, the first thing I suggest is to take them out again (if you've put them back) and also delete&nbsp;the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder.&nbsp; Then run a game repair before opening the game for testing.&nbsp; Note: do not save the game while your mods / CC are out.&nbsp;If you're still having trouble after doing that, exit the game without saving and please answer a few more questions to help us better understand what's happening.- Which specific vacation rental lots have you tried?- Were any of them ones you built or ones you added from the Gallery?- How many sims did you vacation with?- Were the sims ones you created or ones you added from the Gallery?- Do any of those sims have careers?&nbsp; If so, what are the careers?

Hi I’ve done all of the above. To answer your qs

1. I’ve tried lots of lots, mostly from the gallery, one I had built myself, but also the one in san sequoia. I don’t have any other packs that give vacation lots

2. I’ve tried with 1 sim, 2 sims and a whole family

3. I’ve tried with households I’ve created and also an npc family that already existed in the world

4. Yes they have had careers - botany, politician career, astronaut career, also sims with no careers. I have just tried an npc family with two adults with no career and a child in high school but this still hasn’t worked

I’m of the opinion that the vacation system in my save has broken and I would just really like to know if there’s any way I can fix this without moving this family to a new save because they’re a legacy family. Many thanks

@Amandamb21&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Thanks again for sharing!&nbsp; I do apologize for the back and forth, I just wanted to make sure we covered all possibilities.&nbsp; Based on what you provided, I'm inclined to agree with you that save was corrupted somehow and the vacation system (possibly other things) are broken.&nbsp; To my knowledge there is no way to fix a corrupt save.&nbsp; I know you said you have a legacy family in this save.&nbsp; Since you've used Mods before, you could save all the households, put them in a new save and restore the relationships using the MCCC mod; though it can be a little complicated and time-consuming.The only other thing I can think of is maybe to try to recover your previous saves to see if the vacation works in any of them.&nbsp; We only have up to the last five saves available for recovery but perhaps one of those saves is not corrupted.&nbsp; If you'd like to try it, make sure you leave out Mods/CC as you're testing (just in case one of them is what caused the corruption).&nbsp; You can always add them back later.&nbsp; A couple things to keep in mind here: 1) you will lose some progress in the game and 2) having Mods/CC out will mean that your sims won't keep CC clothes or Mod related data, like traits. &nbsp;I've put my suggested steps in the spoiler below, if you're interested.Spoiler (Highlight to read)- Launch the game- Choose Load Game- Click on the save you want to recover- Click the "disk" icon on that save- Make a note of the date and time of each save so you can add that to the name of the recovered save- Starting with the first save in the list, click the Recover button- A "new" save will appear in your Load Game list; it will have [Recovered] added to the end of the save name- Edit the Recovered save name to include the date/time you noted to keep it separate from the others- Test the Recovered save- Repeat these steps for the second, third, etc. saves until you either find one that's working properly (fingers crossed) or none of them are.- Launch the game- Choose Load Game- Click on the save you want to recover- Click the "disk" icon on that save- Make a note of the date and time of each save so you can add that to the name of the recovered save- Starting with the first save in the list, click the Recover button- A "new" save will appear in your Load Game list; it will have [Recovered] added to the end of the save name- Edit the Recovered save name to include the date/time you noted to keep it separate from the others- Test the Recovered save- Repeat these steps for the second, third, etc. saves until you either find one that's working properly (fingers crossed) or none of them are.
