Cannot place residential rental lots without changing the lot type manually

I cannot download a residential rental lot from the gallery unless I change the current lot to residential rental manually first. Then the name of the download lot changes and all the rooms and restrooms for each unit reset to 0. Usually when you download a build lot from the gallery you don’t have to change the lot type first it does it automatically but for residential rental lots it doesn’t.
