which oven are you using ? Do you have any other lot traits/challanges active ?
The "food forge iron stove" paired with the "old king kool" fridge that came with cottage living. The only other lot challenges I have active are Simple Living, but I have all the ingredients needed for a cake both in my sim's inventory and in my fridge.
Do you have the off-the-grid cooking menu on those ? You can cook what's there.
