Paying impossible bills

I didn't know that vaults from Get Famous are like steroids to the bills and I got a bill that's higher than the household funds cap. Is there any way of dealing with that? I can pay it with what I have in my vault but it keeps saying I can't afford to pay the bill because I can't put it in my household funds outside the vault.

    Hope this helps.

  • MalevolentSin666 I did a bit of asking around and learned that there are a couple of mods that might help you.
ArgonGlow - Bills Rebalanced | Adjusted Lot Tax
sims4me (Bienchen) - Harder Game: Higher Bills

You can google to find them easily.  The thing is, since the bills have been delivered, those mods might not work.  They may have to be in place or used prior to the bills being generated to work.

What might work for you is if you have a save from before the bills being generated/delivered, you can use that save and place the vault in the Household Inventory, so its value is not counted in the bills.  It'll cost you some play time, but it should get your bills paid and avoid the repoman and the ensuing hassle of replacing everything he repos as well as keeping the utilities on.

If none of this works, come back and we'll go from there.

    Hope this helps.

  • What if you go into the build mode and just delete the vault ? Or move out delete the vault and come back ?

FairlyFairyXOXO  I doubt that will work in MalevolentSin666 case as the bills have already been delivered.  Either way you mentioned should work if the bills haven't been delivered though.  That's the problem here really.  The bills exceed the amount of cash in the household funds and you can't transfer in anymore due to the household funds cap.  Even if the household moves, the bills will follow them wherever they move to.

What if you add a new dummy sim to the household and then move only the actual family out ? Leaving the dummy sim in that house with the bills ?

  • FairlyFairyXOXO  Yep, that's pretty much the solution I came up with if what I suggested in my 1st post doesn't work.  It's a bit more complicated though and will be a ton of work if the household has a lot of collectibles and personal stuff scattered around the lot.  And it will also require the use of at least a couple mods to set everything back to the way it was before the bills were delivered.  I was waiting for MalevolentSin666 to come back before describing the process as it is a bit complicated.

Isnt it safer to try this first instead of going with mods tho ;p?

FairlyFairyXOXO  Imo, no, not when you use them responsibly.  Mods will usually be faster and more efficient if installed and used properly (i.e. follow the directions) when it comes to fixing most things assuming you have the right mod for the issue.
