Can't change lot type of residential rental, rental owner does not exist

at which point do you get the save error ? Every time you try to save the game ? 

No just that one time I tried to save after assigning all units to the yellow one, bulldozing the lot and changing lot type to generic. I couldn't save before going back to map view - got the error, so saved using ALT F4 and the when opening the game got a white screen for britechester.

I haven't tried to save unless I thought the lot was okay and reset as residential.

I've also gone back and am now trying to assign all units to the pink one (that you couldn't move into or see the household - if there even was one). Demolished lot, made residential and tried to put a new residential down from the gallery. You can see after I did that i went back to the map view and it is overlapped with my build (the tall red brick).

Even if the lot is bulldozed and empty residential it still shows my build in the map view (below). I have saved the game now (to answer your question and check I can (I can). But the lot is not right.

there's so many for rent issues. Linking you a coup (one is supposed to be fixed though) to see if that's what you are seeing. 

Currently don't have too much time with the pack coming so I can't look at your save. Usually I only look at them when I asked for saves :D

That’s fine. I thought I’d link my save in case you wanted to look/ask and you wouldn’t need to wait for it. 

It sounds similar to some of those threads but not exactly. Like I’ve experienced white screen but gone back to a save before that (the sims I’m actively playing with are in britechester also). 
I haven’t had issues with any other lots. 
I haven’t had issues evicting or moving in people. (I’ve just got one unit unable to be accessed - doesn’t show up as available to rent can’t see that anyone lives there and none of my sims do). This is my own build not a build from the gallery.

I did have issues selling the lot/getting rid of the rental so I could change it - that’s where this all stemmed from. And now I just keep seeing my build on the lot even if it’s a demolished residential lot. Which sounds similar to one of them kind of but that’s stuck showing the EA default lot.

So for playability I might go back to a more previous save and see how things go before my build existed - I still have other rentals doing ok in the current save but I might check those for corruption too if I change them to residential. 

Such a shame because this is my fave game mechanic. I hope they manage to fix For Rent. Worries me with the new pack which also seemed exciting.

Thanks for your help. I may add more to this thread if I discover anything else as it hasn’t really been the same as those other threads and I’ll try some other things so I can keep playing. 

Tried disabling the For Rent pack and can still see the build image on that lot in Britechester despite it being a empty residential lot. 

Also noticed now that going to other worlds my Evergreen Harbor is missing the debug world items. In this save and in my older back up from October last year. 

No idea what to do anymore. Hope the team can retroactively fix these issues in saves. 
In that October back up I was not experiencing that Evergreen Harbor issue. I was playing that household in the bottom left and it the map was fine when I left that household (checked a save pre moving in there and still issue with the world).
