Can't find baby

So I'm at a loss. My two sims had a baby but I can't find her anywhere!!! I read somewhere that she can be summoned by her simID and she'd show up in the household inventory, but I keep getting an error message after putting in the correct cheat. I can't even adopt her back because she's not even there. My sims for some reason have NO relationship with her, so I'm betting that's what's making it harder, but I've been trying for over an hour and am getting nowhere. The baby is still present on the family tree and if I go into the mcccommand center, it lists that my sims have two children. She has to be somewhere! HELP PLEASE.
