Can't go into any world

I updated the Sims recently, everything went fine until I opened the game. I created two sims as usual and when I click play I get sent to the "choose a residential world". Well my screen is just blank I can't click any world, please help I'm about to throw my computer.

-I have the base game, no packs, no mods
