Curved Fence Bug

I built a curved fence loop on the second floor, with an opening for the stairs, and the game says objects/doors beneath and above the curved fences are intersecting walls.
The glitch will also remove objects/doors on the floors above/beneath.

bb.moveobjects gets around it though.

  • Iron_Cedar  Based on what I see in your pics, I think the error message is not giving the correct error statement.  It happens when the game can't find a message that is right for the situation and defaults to something else.  What I see in the pics is that you are placing an object (upright piano?) off grid next to a bar, also off grid, and the former is overlapping the latter's footprint so you get the error without MOO being on.  I'm not sure though as I can't see enough of the build to be absolutely sure.  So, if you would like, I am willing to take a look at the build to see if I can find anything more that could be causing the issue.  All you need to do is upload the lot to the Gallery and reply here with the name of the lot and your user ID if other than the one you use here (Iron_Cedar).

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi, thanks for replying!
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
It is Iron_Cedar - and I uplaoded the house (it's big 😬).  I had worked around the glitch, but I set it back the way it was.  It's the room that is on the opposite side of the Rocketship - the room with the exercise equipment, fabricator, woodworking table and candle making table.  The glitch is behind the Woodworking Table.
Thank you for all of your help!

Iron_Cedar  Ok, I dled the lot and took a look.  From what I can tell, it looks like 3 tiles are blocked.  And it looks like it's the handrailing above is causing the blocked tiles.  There is nothing there that is visibly intruding into the tiles.  Why?  Idk, all I can say is that it's happening.  And the handrailing is acting a little strangely.  Every time I try to delete one round section (quarter circle) using shift hammer, the entire half circle handrailing on that end deletes rather than one half.  I tried redrawing them individually and they kept doing it.  That is not how that should work.  It may be connected but idk for sure.  All I can really say is that when you delete the handrailing above, the tiles become unblocked, and you can use the tiles.

So, for a more permanent fix, you might try reducing the open space in the above atria, so it doesn't extend over the rooms underneath or reduce the rooms by one tile width, so the walls below are not seen looking down.  Since you've already found a workaround, you might just want to go with that as it will be a lot of work rearranging things due to the round sections.

Sorry I can't help more.  Hope this helps.

  • You helped - you confirmed it's not just my computer!
My fix so far has been to work on each floor individually or use MoveObjects.  🤷‍♀️
The floor painting can be glitchy too, after I have deleted the tiles within the fenced loop.
    But thanks for confirming!

  • Iron_Cedar Btw, if you haven't found it yet, there are a few floor tiles missing on the floor above under the floor lights next to the railing.  It's hard to see since all the floors are the same.

    Hope this helps.
