Can't place items in empty spots, game insists something is there

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.86
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except For Rent
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It seems to be random and completely nonsensical as to where these spots appear. However, it happens with incredible frequency whenever I want to change the walls, floors, or just move objects to a new place.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game will say "Can't intersect other objects." in a space that is in no way blocked by anything at all. Even remaking the room doesn't fix this bizarre glitch.
What do you expect to see? Being able to place windows and doors and objects in spaces that aren't blocked by anything else.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The For Rent pre-release patch probably caused this, and if I had to guess, the problems others are having with changing builds is related to this, despite me not owning that broken pack.

Just now, I tried to remodel a bathroom with new walls and flooring and the shower inexplicably got shoved into the household inventory and the game won't let me place it back in its spot again. I can place anything else there, just not a shower. Also, the door was deleted and again I can't place a door in the spot it was in previously despite nothing blocking it, but I can place anything else. This is maddening and bizarre and really baffling. Please fix it.

Edit: Now the problem is worse. I can't put anything at all on two tiles in the bathroom, and something from a downstairs room also got shoved into the household inventory and it also cannot be placed back where it was. Good grief this is absurd.

I downloaded the lot and placed it in a test save.  When I went into the lot in build mode, I found nothing wrong so the glitch must have cleared itself by being copied and placed again.  I have seen that happen before so wasn't too surprised when I found that I could place things in the spaces you said were glitched.  I was able to move things around freely and the only times I couldn't place something was in places you normally can't like in front of a door or a dresser.

So, to get the lot working correctly in your game, I suggest you replace it with the copy you made to post.  That should fix those spaces where you can't place things. Keep in mind that you can lose the connection to any personal things like the diploma I saw, the child drawings, garden plants and a host of other things when you replace a lot that has been occupied.

Make sure you empty all the containers - fridge, storage chests, flower station, bookcase, DU chests before you move out.  Anything that has anything else in it needs to be emptied and the items placed in one of the inventories.  So, before you replace the lot and move out, grab all the personal things and any collectibles including the JA relics, container contents, etc. and dump them in a sim's inventory or the household inventory and move the sims out.

Another way to do it is just to move out and KEEP the furniture.  Then when you move back in, you can retrieve what you want from the household inventory and recycle what you don't want to keep.  You will keep the connections to everything the sims owned that has one doing it that way.  You will still need to empty all the containers and put their contents in one of the inventories though.  Also doing it that way has the benefit of keeping the upgrades on everything, and the rocket ship and treehouse fully built. Otherwise, you'll have to upgrade and/or build things again.  You'll need to replace the items in the new house with their HH inventory counterpart when you replace a house this way.  The other benefit is that you get a ton of bits and pieces from recycling the leftovers.  And the HH inventory can get incredibly slow when there's a lot of stuff in it but as you take things out, it does speed back up.  And that can take a lot of time, but you'll get a working lot again in the end that's just like it was before the glitch.

    Hope this helps.

Problems like what you're having are a bit hard to help with without a few pics at minimum.  If you are willing to upload the lot to the Gallery, I am willing to test it to see if I can find what's causing the issue for you.  All you need to do is upload the lot and respond here with the name of the lot and your user id if different than the one you use here (Uigenna).

One thing it could be is if you downloaded the lot from the Gallery and the original creator used MOO to place objects originally.  When that happens, you can't put them back where they were when you move them, and a lot of objects will get moved into the household inventory on entry or leaving build mode because the footprints overlay.

    Hope this helps.

@CGrant56 I built the lot entirely myself without MOO, so it's not the gallery glitch.

I have shared the lot on the gallery under my PS4 ID, Uigenna. The house is named Glitched House. The two glitched spots are in the living room in the empty space above the infant playpens, and the kids' room bathroom on the left, the one with the toilet and shower in the only places I could put them; the glitched space is behind them.

    @CGrant56 Thanks for the help.

This is actually the family's second house; I built the first and had the glitch, so I moved them to a bigger lot by putting all the furniture into the HH inventory and then building the second house from scratch, and the glitch happened again some time after I had moved them into the new house. So it seems like even if I move out and back again, with or without replacing the house, it'll happen again.
