Cant place or shift objects in build mode.

I hope this is the right page to post this.

Starting just last night I have been having this issue - I can't seem to place new items or shift current items in build mode. I thought it was my mouse at first, so I changed to a newer one to try, but its still the same. I tried again today its working fine for awhile but the issue crashes up again😞 I cant build anything now. I'm trying to refurnish a new 50x40 restaurant but this problem keeps bugging me😓Not sure whether my laptop is too old to keep up with the graphics or techs. Mods and CC seems to have no problem too.

Anyone having this same issue?
