Cant place strangerville medals in display case

My sim is in the military career and she's earned a few medals. I could place them in the display case just fine before I moved her into a new house. Now that the medals are in the build mode invento...

That didn't work for me. I get a message that says my character doesn't own this object. Can't admire move in live mode drag during build into the case etc.

It looks like @SheriGR has a possible solution in post #4. I suggest giving that a try.
