Can't put infant in crib from downstairs

I recently remolded a house, The old salt house. I have a crib upstairs that my sims can't access. I moved it everywhere, changed the crib. they can't put the baby in the crib. they can only do it when they are in the room itself. My sims can go up the stairs no problem and can enter the room . I also put the crib in the other room upstairs and they still can't. I can't interact with anything in the room. Nothing is blocking the path. I never had this issue before so I don't know what to do.
