Can't use Archeology Table

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have an unauthenticated artifact in the inventory of a sim with at least Level 3 archeology skill. Click on the Archeology table, and choose "Authenticate artifact" or "Uncover artifact". Choose an Artifact from the list. In my game, I was able to authenticate artifacts as recently as 1 sim day ago, but now when I try to use the bench, the actions appear in my sim's action queue and then just disappear. I have replicated this behaviour with multiple sims. I tried deleting the archeology table and placing a new one, but that did not fix the problem. I also repaired my game to no effect.
What do you expect to see? Sims putting the artifact on the table and then authenticating it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No.
I'm curious if there is a limit to how many artifacts can be authenticated by one household. I'm several generations deep into a save, and I've authenticated a lot of artifacts during that time. I'm curious if I hit an undocumented limit somehow.
FWIW, I can use the table to extract elements and refine crystals.
